As one of the leading refining, oil trading centres and top petrochemical hubs in the world, Singapore has been aggressively pursing bulk liquid storage investments such as its Jurong Island Chemical Complex and Jurong Rock Cavern. Surrounding Asian countries too have followed Singapore’s lead, such as Malaysia’s Johor Bahru 1.4 billion ringgit oil terminal project development and Oiltanking’s deepwater terminal in Indonesia. This trend has led to increasing focus on the bulk liquid storage market and has sparked increasing competition in regional oil trade.
In 2007, IBC Energy’s 2nd Annual Asia Bulk Liquid Storage Conference was a huge success which analyzed the growth of the bulk liquid storage market and explored technical operations, tank maintenance and risk management issues. This year’s 3rd Annual Asia Bulk Liquid Storage Conference, not only revisits some of these themes looking at the key lessons learnt, but boasts new business opportunities, strategies and best practices by key industry players.
